Dot NAME Domain Names

Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level domain is the only one meant for personal sites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other titles people are known by. At the beginning, only 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you wanted to acquire john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already bought 3rd-level domains remained working.

Through our firm, you can grab your dot NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will be able to correct the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer key from the present registrar firm and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been completed. There are no particular restrictions on who can book a .NAME domain name, but in order to keep the concept behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration could be challenged.

The .NAME universal top-level domain is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no added cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the exact spelling in your native language.
